The HotRace cup was held in Gubbio, the track of the 2016 world championship. Many top drivers did the trip to prepare for the worlds.
The event followed the IFMAR rules. The pole man went directly in the one hour final while the 2nd to 5th fought for the super pole to take the second place in final.

In the qualification, Robert Pietsch came successfully on pole by taking the first two rounds of qualification, followed by Alessio Mazzeo who TQed the 3rd round in the Saturday evening and Leo Arnold who took the final qualification and also had the lap record.

During the 30 minutes semifinal, Leo Arnold made the fastest time followed by Giuseppe Dâ™angelo and Alessio Mazzeo. Unfortunately the final was cancelled due to the heavy rain. The organizer decided to take the result after the semifinal. So Robert Pietsch win this event, in second was Dario Balestri who made the fastest lap during the super pole and 3rd is Leo Arnold with his best time in the semifinals.
